The HMRC app is a quick and easy way to update your personal details.
For example, you might want to update your address, or tell HMRC your name has changed.
It’s important to make sure your personal information is correct and up to date. It’s good for security and helps HMRC to protect you, and to make sure they’re dealing with the right person.
It also helps if HMRC need to contact you about something important.
You don’t need to call HMRC to update your details – you can save time by using the HMRC app instead.
The app is personal to you, secure and free – and you can use it any time, on any smartphone or tablet.
When you sign into the app, tap on ‘Your Details’. Here you can update your name or your main address. Now tap on ‘change’ – in this section you can update your name, your main address, or your postal address. And that’s your changes done.
You can download the HMRC app from Google Play for Android devices, or from the App Store for Apple products.
Once you’ve used the app, you can sign in again using your 6-digit pin, facial recognition, or your thumbprint.
